AVON, Conn. (February 7, 2011) – In recognition of American Heart Month, Avon Health Center has published twelve diet tips for a healthier heart. The tips can be accessed by going to the avonhealthcenter.com web site, and clicking the Give Your Heart A Valentine! link on the home page.
According to Kathy Epstein, Dietician at Avon Health Center and author of the tips, “February is American Heart Month and a great time to make changes to improve your diet.” She explains that a healthy diet should include whole grains, fruits and vegetables and be low in fat, cholesterol and sodium. She adds, “This is good, broad diet knowledge. The twelve tips we provide in Give Your Heart A Valentine! detail very specific, small steps we can take to improve heart health.” Avon Health Center, located on West Avon Road, is a 120-bed, family owned nursing facility providing long-term care, rehabilitation, hospice and respite care.
