Avon Health Center, family owned since 1974, provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice and respite care. We are a 120 bed facility, with a 30 bed post-acute/rehab unit. Avon Health Center is offering FREE CNA classes!
Avon Health Center will sponsor qualified candidates to attend a 3 Week CNA class upon completion of the interview process, successful background check (including fingerprinting), references and pre-hire requirements.
Upon completion of the course and successful CNA exam/certification, you will be eligible for full time employment (32 hours per week including every other weekend and every other holiday) with us. We are currently hiring for 7-3 shift. Upon hire, the hourly rate will be $21.00 plus $1.00 weekend differential. You will also be eligible for the BONUS PROGRAM after your orientation period.
What to Know
Type of Class: This is a hybrid class: 60 of the 100 hours is done ONLINE from the convenience of your own home or at Avon Health Center, whichever you prefer.
Date of Classes:
- Online Course (60 hours): Begins 2/09/26 and must be completed no later than Wednesday, 2/18/26. The online portion is self-paced.
- In Person: Skills Training begins 2/23/26 through 2/25/26 (8 am to 4 pm) at Avon Health Center, 652 West Avon Road, Avon, CT
In Person Clinicals: 2/26 and 2/27 (7 am to 3 pm) at Avon Health Center, 652 West Avon Road, Avon, CT
Mandatory Attendance: You must be able to attend all days of classes and clinicals in order to complete this course.
State Exam: Upon completion of the course, you will be required to pass the state exam (date to be determined). Class participant is responsible for the exam fee.
Terms & Conditions
- You are committing to taking and successfully completing the CNA class, passing the competency exam, and becoming a certified CNA.
- You agree to work for Avon Health Center at a schedule of at least thirty-two (32) hours per week, for a minimum of 12 months after getting certified.
- Background check, including FBI fingerprinting, is required and must be cleared prior to start of classes.
- At least two satisfactory reference checks required prior to start of classes.
- You must be authorized to work in the US and be able to provide current original Identification Document(s) required for the I9 (Employment Eligibility Verification Form) prior to start of classes.
CLASS AND CLINICAL HOURS ARE NOT PAID.
