Job Details
We are looking for a full time Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator who is dynamic, energetic, outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, professional and courteous. Must enjoy working with people, especially elderly. The Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Activities Department, and will report to the Director of Recreation.
Additional responsibilities include transportation of residents to activities within the facility/on the grounds and facilitating visits (indoor, outdoor, virtual, phone) between residents and their family and friends.

Position Requirements
- Must possess, at a minimum, high school diploma (or equivalent) and Connecticut state Certificate in Therapeutic Recreation or be enrolled in a TRD Certificate Program (Documentation Required)
- Minimum 1 year experience in a long term care/senior housing facility
- Ability to evaluate residents’ needs
- Experience with establishing resident care goals
- Ability to lift, push, pull and move without restrictions (moving residents in wheelchairs, etc.)
- Must be able to speak and read English
- Familiarity with proper documentation required of a TRD
