We are a 120 bed facility, with a 30 bed post-acute/rehab unit. CNA Class Details
Avon Health Center is offering FREE CNA classes! Start your new career in healthcare at a 5-star facility.
Avon Health Center will sponsor qualified candidates to attend a 3 Week CNA class upon completion of the interview process, successful background check (including fingerprinting), references and pre-hire requirements.
Upon completion of the course and successful CNA exam/certification, you will be eligible for full time employment (32 hours per week including every other weekend and every other holiday) with us.
We are currently hiring for 7-3 and 3-11 shifts. Upon hire, the hourly rate will be $21.00 plus $1.00 weekend differential, as well as shift differentials when applicable. You will also be eligible for the shift pick-up BONUS PROGRAM after your orientation period.
What to Know
Hybrid Class: 60 hours of training is done ONLINE from the convenience of your own home. Then 40 hours of hands-on training and clinicals will be done at our facility in Avon, CT. You MUST be able to complete the 60 hours of training within the allowed period of time and attend the on site training the final week.
Date of Classes:
- Online Course (60 hours): Begins Monday, 5/04/26 and must be completed no later than Friday, 5/22/26. The online training is self-paced.
- In Person Training (40 hours): Begins Monday, 6/01/26 through Wednesday, 6/03/26 (8 am to 4 pm) at Avon Health Center, 652 West Avon Road, Avon, CT
In Person Clinicals: Thursday, 6/04/26 and Friday, 6/05/26 (7 am to 3 pm) at Avon Health Center, 652 West Avon Road, Avon, CT
General Orientation: Date of Hire is Monday, 6/08/2026 from 8:30 to 3:00 pm. You will then be scheduled for your regular shifts the same week and will work with mentors over the course of 2-3 weeks.
Mandatory Attendance: In addition to completing the online course by 5/22/26, you must be able to attend all days of classes and clinicals in order to complete this course. You must also be able to start with Avon Health Center as of Monday, 6/08/2026.
State Exam: Upon completion of the course, you will be required to pass the state exam (date to be determined). Class participant is responsible for the exam fee.
Terms & Conditions
- Class hours (both online portion and in person days) are not paid.
- You are committing to taking and successfully completing the CNA class, passing the competency exam, and becoming a certified CNA.
- In exchange for Avon Health Center paying for the class, you agree to work for Avon Health Center at a schedule of at least thirty-two (32) hours per week, for a minimum of 12 months after getting certified.
- Background check, including FBI fingerprinting, is required and must be cleared prior to start of classes.
- At least two satisfactory reference checks required prior to start of classes.
- You must be authorized to work in the US and be able to provide current original Identification Document(s) required for the I9 (Employment Eligibility Verification Form).
